Do we have a say in the itinerary?
We do not have a fixed itinerary, to the contrary we try to input personal parameters for each individual group. Hence, on first day, together with your captain with the week's windforecast in hand, you will select the most suitable set of stopovers.
How many people can we be on the boat?
With her 4 double cabins with Queen size beds and her four bunks cabin, all with ensuite facilities, the Lagoon 500 can accomodate up to 10 guests. The crew's quarters are fully separate.
Do we go into marinas at night?
In July and August, when harbors get very busy in the Greek islands, yachts generally anchor out in the evenings, unless they need to refill their fuel or water tanks or if they claim a slip before 15:00. Outside this period it is usually not a problem to go into marina at night. Each of our yachts carry a tender or dinghy with an outboard motor, sort of the taxi for getting around.
In what condition is the boat?
This particular Lagoon 500 is in mint condition, she was built in 2009 and comes from a successful series and probably one of the best in its size. She is not listed on any mass yacht rental platform and has been pampered by the same captain since day one, as opposed to bare boats or boats were crews rotate indifferently. Systematic preventive maintenance and constant improvements have been the hallmark of this tight ship.
Like quality wine, this Lagoon 500 has positively matured over the years, ever attuned to it's demanding guests. Apart from mandatory safety maintenance on engines and gear, she has been refitted in 2016 with:
• new tender 2016 with new 40HP four stroke engine
• new genoa foresail
• new "lazy" mainsail pack
• new bimini sun shade
• new spray dodger
• new trampoline nets
• 2 new relaxing poofs for the main deck
• new custom made cockpit table manufactured to provide more comfort to our clients for their meals
• new appliqué-style cabin lights
• new under water lights
• new linen
• new SUP (Stand Up Paddle)
• additional coffee machine, Nespresso with Aeroccino equipment for better quality espressos and cappuccinos
How do I figure costs and expenses?
Port dues and water tanks fill are included in the charter price. For the fuel, you should expect to spend between 900 to 1200 euros per week. The fuel consumption for both engines is 20 liters/per hour and 5 liters/per hour for the generators.
How does the catering onboard work?
The catering onboard works as following: we send you a food preference sheet to complete and your chef will shop accordingly. Your dietary needs and allergy info will be duly recorded and passed on to the chef who will make sure that all meals are prepared accordingly.
Regarding expenses as a whole (food, drinks, fuel and port dues), you may settle either them in cash directly to your crew or you may wire an Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA) of 20% of the charter fee. Should you have spent less, the balance shall be reimbursed in cash at the end of your cruise.
Dinner in or out?
It is up to you! You may have dinner onboard the catamaran prepared by your chef or have dinner ashore.
Two of us have moderate to severe allergies to nuts and are also vegetarians (no meat, chicken, seafood, or fish), will that be a problem to accommodate?
Not at all. Your cook may accommodate all your wishes, if he/she’s warned in advance. Since there are plenty of vegetables and fresh fruits in the Greek traditional summer diet, vegetarians are quite happy in Greece. Every day your cook will discuss the menu options with you and make proposals according to your wishes and the available fresh produces.
