Like last year, many of you came to Greece and experienced a sailing adventure in the Greek islands on board our catamarans. Groups of friends, families, couples or solo travelers you recorded memories of your sailing cruise on numerous pictures.Thank you for sharing some of them with the rest of us and also thank you for all the warm feedback we received.
Hoping to see you all again soon!

1. We are all sailors. Can we charter you’re a Pahi catamaran without skipper ?
Our Pahi catamarans being large and sophisticated, we always charter them with a crew. On top of that, the windy Aegean being devoid of marina facilities, navigating and docking require expertise to be carried out safely. Our skippers know the area like the back of their hand; they are also knowledgeable with the local history and traditions. They take pride at introducing their guests to the enthralling Aegean, while being discreet and friendly. Their presence warrants trouble free sailing vacations.
2. Why is your lounging cockpit so different from other catamarans ?
Our “convertible” lounging cockpit is a compromise: when sailing in summer in the Aegean Sea it offers more comfort (its walls may be rolled up or down accordingly), wider side decks (phenomenal deck space for sunbathing) and considerably less windage than any other similar size catamaran. Run of the mill multihulls ’ deck saloons turn into ovens when sailing under the usual sunny and windy conditions (salt spray = closed hatches), their crews ending up…outside (unless aircon and a generator are at hand!) -of course, should we want to sail in more rigorous climates, our “convertible” cockpits would appear less adequate.
3. How do you make up your charter with regard to age and interest compatibility ?
We're usually able to make enough personal contact with each of our guests to have a clear picture of how to match them with a team they'll find compatible. Because of the vacation mode, style and cost, all our customers are reasonably fit, who enjoy open air activities, understand the meaning of propriety on board a sailing yacht and finally end up having a lot in common. Furthermore the fact that they embark in such a shared boat vacation more than implies they are willing to be flexible (within reason) and have the greatest fun. We’ve been involved in this kind of cruises for over 10 years now, some of our guests became friends for life while actually few people got married! One of the keys to success is that our new boats ensure a lot of privacy as all have en-suite private bathrooms with individual companionways and boast 700 square feet of deck space. Finally our skippers know how to manage group dynamics in order to ensure a seamless sailing vacation for everyone onboard.
4. Is there air conditioning in the sleeping cabins ?
There is no need for air conditioning as there is almost everyday a cool northerly breeze in summer in the Cycladic islands and 2 inches deck insulation on our Pahi catamarans. For the rare windless days, each cabin is equipped with fan.
5. We travel with children. Is a sailing cruise in Greece advisable?
Many families vacation with their kids (including ourselves!) in Greece on either monohull or catamaran but the majority will prefer the latter as it is a stable, even platform offering lots of deck space. At Archipel Club, we believe that the contact with the sea is an excellent source of stimulation for children of all ages who, as we found out, adapt themselves very quickly to their new environment while taking pleasure at being assigned “duties” when needed. Parents with young children or babies will value the communication hatch between the cabins, allowing them to check on their little ones at will. The great bonus of our Pahi 53’ catamarans are: a 15’ wide bathing platform accommodating an entire family or group of friends, giant deck space, independently accessed cabins with private bathrooms and a very high level of safety.
George & Vanessa (owners of the Pahi catamarans and managers of Archipel Club) will be happy to answer your questions. Please, feel free to contact us at info@archiplelclub.com
